The New York and New Jersey personal injury law firm of Gersowitz, Libo & Korek, P.C., wins a $5 million jury verdict for David Goodwick against Northeastern Tour Inc. Goodwick suffered serious head trauma after an auto accident with a tour bus. The case was filed in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of New York, with the New York County Index No.: 111765/04.

New York, NY (PRWEB) July 16, 2009 -- A New York jury awarded David Goodwick, former CEO of Leverage Marketing Group of Connecticut, $5 million in damages for suffering a closed head trauma after being rear ended by a tour bus in the Lincoln Tunnel on June 4, 2003. Mr. Goodwick was represented by Jeff Korek of Gersowitz, Libo & Korek, P.C. against the owner of the bus, Northeastern Tour Inc. In a seven-week trial before Judge Debra James, Mr. Korek successfully argued that Mr. Goodwick's injuries prevented him from running his business and managing his staff of 15 employees, forcing him to sell the company he founded. The case was filed in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of New York, with the New York County Index No.: 111765/04.

"We are pleased with the jury's recognition that David's life is forever altered due to the negligence of the tour bus operator," Mr. Korek said. "David continues to struggle with the pain caused by his head trauma, but is grateful to have the trial behind him."

Mr. Goodwick was riding in the backseat of a vehicle traveling in the Lincoln Tunnel when a tour bus operated by Ringo Ng, an employee of Northeastern Tour Inc., crashed into the vehicle from behind. Two of Mr. Goodwick's fellow passengers stated that he was in a daze directly following the accident. Additionally, Mr. Goodwick suffered memory loss, confusion, and chronic headaches in the week following the accident which led him to seek the help of a neurologist. Mr. Korek presented evidence in court that despite years of cognitive therapy, Mr. Goodwick's brain injuries resulted in a loss of important motor skills and reasoning skills preventing him from performing necessary activities for a daily living.

A total of $5 million in damages was awarded to Mr. Goodwick in the amounts of $1 million for past pain and suffering, $1 million for past lost earnings, $1 million for future pain and suffering, and $2 million for future lost earnings.
