London Borough Goes With SRC Digital Dictation Solution Over Citrix

SRC has completed the roll out of digital dictation to around 80 users within the in-house legal department at London Borough of Southwark. The solution, which is working on one of the latest versions of Citrix and modified Wyse devices on the client side, has been fully implemented, trained and supported by SRC.

London (PRWEB) June 13, 2009 -- SRC (www.src.co.uk), the leading provider of digital dictation to local authorities, announced today that it has completed the roll out of the popular WinScribe digital dictation solution to around 80 users within the in-house legal department at London Borough of Southwark. The London Borough of Southwark has the largest in-house legal department of all London local authorities and operates all IT systems within a "thin client" Citrix based environment.

The solution, which is working on one of the latest versions of Citrix and modified Wyse devices on the client side, has been fully implemented, trained and supported by SRC. The solution is central to the re-engineering and modification of critical processes across the Legal Services Team. Already the solution is helping ensure rapid turnaround of documents and removal of typing backlogs that are inherent in the previous tape based dictation system.

Speaking about the decision to partner with SRC, Brendon Beggs, IT Manager at the London Borough of Southwark said; "SRC were able to demonstrate a superior Citrix solution that could be easily adapted to our complex environment which comprises a farm of 50 Citrix servers. The WinScribe system also offered better thought out and clearer Blackberry functionality which lawyers and council members are now using when on-the-move. Furthermore, SRC offered a better approach to the integration of the system with the Axxia DNA system and are the right partner to meet our requirements now and in the future."

The selection of SRC followed a comprehensive tender and evaluation process, which included Bighand and nFlow. The evaluation highlighted that the WinScribe technology provided full support for Citrix based deployment and concluded that the SRC solution would best support the Borough of Southwark's requirement to partner with a supplier which fully understood the requirements for successful deployment within thin client environments.

Speaking about the award, Chris Hart, CEO at SRC added: "This latest news emphasises our high-quality solutions and services and unique capability for supporting successful deployment in thin client environments. We now look forward to helping the London Borough of Southwark drive process efficiencies and increase service levels through our integrated digital dictation solution."

Southwark is the latest in a line of London Boroughs, including The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and The London Borough of Lambeth to have turned to SRC and the innovative, world leading WinScribe digital dictation solution, to improve document production efficiencies.
