Before joining BFV, Moran was Senior Counsel at Turner Broadcasting, where he negotiated and managed programming-distribution deals for Turner's twelve cable television networks in the United States, including CNN, Headline News, TNT, TBS, Turner Classic Movies, and Cartoon Network. In addition, Moran supported - Turner's new media efforts and Latin American networks. Before joining Turner, Moran served for six years as counsel for BellSouth/AT&T's Latin American and large business/enterprise divisions. He came to Atlanta in 1998 to join the firm of Troutman Sanders LLP as an associate in that firm's international and corporate practice groups. In addition, Moran served as a military intelligence officer in the U.S. Army and clerked for a federal judge in the U.S. District Court in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Moran continues to serve as International Counsel for the Atlanta Silverbacks professional soccer club, a post he has held since 1999, where he works closely with the Silverbacks' foreign players and club affiliates in Europe and Latin America.

Moran is a member of the Georgia Bar, the District of Columbia Bar, the Atlanta Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Georgia Hispanic Bar Association. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and been a youth mentor for the Latin American Association. As a commentator on legal, business, sports, and community issues, Moran has often appeared in local print, radio, and television media.

Moran earned his undergraduate and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Notre Dame. During his laws studies at Notre Dame, he also participated in the Concannon Programme in International Law in London. Born in New York and raised in a bi-cultural Irish and Spanish family, Moran is a native English and Spanish linguist, is conversant in Portuguese, and has some proficiency in both French and Italian. Moran his wife Gretchen, and their sons, Liam and Oliver, live in the Brookhaven area of Atlanta.
