Association of Corporate Counsel's Growth Continues with 50th Chapter Milestone

North Florida Chapter Gets off to Strong Start with Members from 65 Corporations

The strong support we have received from local in-house counsel has been a great validation to start this chapter

Washington, D.C. (Vocus/PRWEB ) June 1, 2009 -- The Association of Corporate Counsel ("ACC") has expanded its reach in Florida with the establishment of the North Florida Chapter, its third Chapter in Florida and 50th Chapter worldwide. Joining the Central Florida and South Florida chapters in Florida, the North Florida Chapter will offer quarterly educational programs focused on helping members to save time, money and effort.

Lisa Taylor, Vice President and Assistant General Counsel of Pacer International Inc., led the development of the new chapter and will serve the Chapter as its first President.

"The strong support we have received from local in-house counsel has been a great validation to start this chapter," noted Taylor. "We are very excited to serve Jacksonville and its surrounding counties and offer events that reflect the concerns, and address the interests of, our in-house counsel colleagues."

With 85 members representing 65 corporations, including CEVA Logistics U.S., Inc., MPS GroupFidelity National Financial, The Body Shop of America Inc., Rayonier Inc., Merrill Lynch and Winn Dixie Stores, Inc., the chapter has established a strong initial presence in the North Florida area.

"Now more than ever, in-house counsel recognize the benefits of tapping into the vast knowledge and experience from their colleagues," explained Frederick J. Krebs, ACC President. "This chapter reflects the desire of attorneys to share best practices and network with other members of the in-house community, as well as a milestone in the expansion of ACC's global network of in-house counsel."
