Palm Bay, Fla. (PRWEB) May 19, 2009 - LL Research & Consulting, Inc dba Reality Check Program have produced and are distributing a DVD which offers a glimpse into prison life and a dose of reality to encourage teens and young adults to make good choices. The 67 minute film features ex-con Lawrence Lawton telling his story of serving 11 years in Federal prisons, losing everything and that it just wasn't worth it.
Lawrence Lawton was born and raised in the Bronx and Brooklyn, New York. He spent six years in the United States Coast Guard. It was following this stint in the Coast Guard that his life began to change - for the worst. He proceeded to make some bad choices that led him to associations with Organized Crime Members. It was these associations, and other bad choices he made in his life, that ultimately cost him his freedom. He was arrested and convicted of racketeering in connection with a series of jewelry robberies. He would spend the next 11 years of his life in some of the toughest federal prisons in the country, where he personally endured solitary confinement - and witnessed horrific incidents that no human should ever see.
Today, after leaving his New York lifestyle behind him, Lawrence Lawton is an Ex-Convict and Certified Paralegal with a passion for helping teens and young adults around the country. Upon his release from prison, he founded developed the Reality Check Program featured on this DVD. During the program, you'll hear Lawrence Lawton's story - how he lost his time, his family, his freedom. Through pictures and stories, you'll see what prison is REALLY like and how a young teen or adult can avoid making the same mistakes he made.
Lawrence Lawton lived "The Life." He learned from his mistakes, and he is now helping others to understand that a life of crime is no life at all. Today, he devotes his new life to helping teens and young adults before they are arrested - or worse.
Lawton currently offers his live program where he resides in Brevard County, Florida and the program is approved by the Juvenile Courts as an alternative sanction for teen offenders. The 3 hour live program offers juveniles 8 hours of community service. The Reality Check Program DVD is currently available for sale on the Reality Check website - http://www.realitycheckprogram.org/
