Martin, Harding & Mazzotti Donation Puts Emphasis on Safety as More Than 1,300 Community Members Receive CPR and First AID Training

Albany based personal injury law firm, Martin, Harding & Mazzotti donations help police officers, fire fighters, EMT's, Boy Scouts and the public receive CPR and first aid training using the equipment provided by the firm.

Niskayuna, NY (PRWEB) May 21, 2009 -- Martin, Harding & Mazzotti, LLP, a personal injury law firm based in New York's Capital Region, has helped more than 1,300 people throughout Vermont and New York learn CPR and first aid.

Last summer, Paul B. Harding, Managing Partner of Martin, Harding & Mazzotti, donated $5,000 in CPR equipment to Melissa Elwell. The teaching materials donated included a computer, projector, facemasks and a family of mannequins. Harding and Elwell both graduated from Albany Law School of Union University. Elwell is a lawyer, professor and an advanced EMT with the Bennington Rescue Squad in Bennington, Vermont and a firefighter with Buskirk Fire Department in Buskirk, NY. She has run over 4,800 rescue squad calls in the past 12 years.

The donation from Martin, Harding & Mazzotti has allowed me to offer low cost CPR and first aid certification courses throughout Washington County in Vermont and Rensselaer County in New York
"The donation from Martin, Harding & Mazzotti has allowed me to offer low cost CPR and first aid certification courses throughout Washington County in Vermont and Rensselaer County in New York," said Elwell. "A total of 1,398 people, including 125 police officers, 340 fire fighters, 198 EMT's, 87 Boy Scouts along with their parents and more than 15 other classes all received CPR and first aid training using the equipment provided by Martin, Harding & Mazzotti."

Last year, congress set aside the first week in June as the first annual National CPR/AED Awareness Week to spotlight how lives can be saved if more Americans know CPR. As an advocate for community safety, the donation by Martin, Harding & Mazzotti helps provide more people with the knowledge and confidence to respond during an emergency situation with skills that can help save lives.

"Supporting such a crucial training program not only allows us to give back to the community, but also gives us the opportunity to help educate the public," said Harding. "No one wants to ever have to use their training in real life, but in a worse-case scenario, being trained in CPR and the use of an AED could be the difference between life and death."

Paul Harding completed the course in Vermont and is now certified in CPR and first aid.

Martin, Harding & Mazzotti is an avid supporter of community safety programs. From providing free cab rides to prevent DWI, to putting on bike safety events to provide helmets to children, the firm is consistently making an effort to give back to the community.
