Stolen Guns Database Now Available To The Public

Studies show that there is an average of 500,000 guns stolen each year. Of those, only a few stolen weapons are recovered and returned to the rightful owner.

Fort Washington, PA (PRWEB) March 10, 2009 -- Studies show that there is an average of 500,000 guns stolen each year. Of those, only a few stolen weapons are recovered and returned to the rightful owner.

More than 75% of crimes committed with guns are committed with stolen guns or illegal firearms purchased from someone else who either stole the firearm or bought them at a gun dealer.

There are more than 1 million stolen gun reports in the FBI's National Crime Information Center (NCIC). You should always report a stolen gun so it is entered into the stolen gun database; however, under current gun laws, those records are not available to you or the public.

There are other resources to help you secure your guns. FIREARMSFAX has a Recovery Gun System where you can store all of the information about your firearms in a lockbox that only you can access.

When you report your lost or stolen gun to their database, they will email your stolen weapon information to all of their registered gun and pawn shop owners within a 50 mile radius. Then, police can be notified very quickly if it is recovered, allowing them to return your stolen property easily.

You can store your weapons' serial numbers, purchase information, and more for easy retrieval from anywhere. Having that information readily available when reporting a lost or stolen gun helps law enforcement recover your weapon and return it to you.

The Firearms Fax database is secure and easy to use and is there to assist you if your gun is ever stolen. You can also store the serial numbers and photos of your other valuables, wills, insurance policies, passports, and more. Then you can retrieve this information whenever you need to from wherever you are.

If there is ever a flood, a fire, or other natural disaster, your FirearmsFax.com Lockbox has all the information you need to report to your insurance company. If there is a burglary or robbery, your lockbox has that information to help police recover your stolen gun or other valuables.

The mission of FIREARMSFAX is to enable the general public to register stolen firearms in our database, and to assist in returning them to their rightful owners.

Visit FIREARMSFAX for more information. They welcome gun owners, law enforcement, gun dealers, and pawn shop owners to register and help take more stolen guns off the streets.
