Gary Robb named most successful helicopter accident attorney in the country.
Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) March 24, 2009 -- An article in the March 16, 2009 edition of Forbes Magazine recognizes Kansas City personal injury attorney Gary C. Robb, of ROBB & ROBB, LLC as "by far the most successful helicopter crash trial lawyer in the country." The spotlight article, which points out that a rash of recent medevac helicopter crashes and related deaths has prompted National Transportation Safety Board and Congressional inquiries, suggests that Robb has valuable expertise to share with these government investigators.
The article focuses on Robb's recent resolution of a medevac helicopter crash in Nebraska, which resulted in an $18.4 million settlement, the largest wrongful death settlement in the history of that state. Robb claimed that the Eurocopter helicopter involved in that case crashed due to a defect in a part known as the tail rotor accumulator. (Scollard et. al. v. Eurocopter, C I-02-2620-22, District Court of Lancaster County, Nebraska). Eurocopter voluntarily and independently agreed to change its future policies relating to design and inspection of that part.
Forbes states that Mr. Robb wants to use his aviation law expertise in helicopter crashes to cut back on the demand for his work. "It's time we put a fence at the top of the cliff rather than an ambulance in the valley below," Robb says. The article also recognizes that Mr. Robb has never signed a nondisclosure agreement with a manufacturer, even if it would mean a bigger settlement. "I'm tired of seeing people die in preventable crashes," Robb explains.
In 1995, Robb & Robb obtained the two highest jury verdicts in helicopter crash cases in the U.S., a $350 million jury verdict on behalf of a helicopter pilot who experienced an in-flight engine failure (Barnett v. La Societe Anonyme Turbomecca France, 963 S.W. 2d 939, Western District of Missouri Court of Appeals), and a $70 million jury verdict on behalf of a 20 year old woman who was a passenger on board that same helicopter(Letz v. Turbomecca, 975 S. W. 2d 155, Western District Missouri Court of Appeals). The firm also has the highest settlement in any helicopter crash litigation, a $38 million cash settlement involving a young woman who was severely burned when her tour helicopter crashed in the Grand Canyon(Daskal, er. Al. v. Aerospetiale , Case No. A471961 Clark Co. Dist. Court, Las Vegas, Nevada). Robb & Robb has been preciously recognized by national media and a number of professional organizations as the leading helicopter crash law firm in the United States.
