Geiger Chosen to Take Over Leadership Of Sands Anderson Litigation Team

Jeffrey Hamilton Geiger, a shareholder at the law firm of Sands Anderson Marks & Miller, P.C., has been appointed Chair of the Business and Professional Litigation practice group, firm President M. Pierce Rucker announced.

Richmond, VA (PRWEB) January 9, 2009 -- Jeffrey Hamilton Geiger, a shareholder at the law firm of Sands Anderson Marks & Miller, P.C., has been appointed Chair of the Business and Professional Litigation practice group, firm President M. Pierce Rucker announced.

"While working the last nine months with co-chair Lee Byrd, Jeff has shown his excellent management skills in overseeing the legal work assignments and workflow planning of his fellow attorneys, developing and maintaining productive client relationships and working with staff to ensure the smooth operation of our largest practice section," Rucker explained. Geiger continues to hold the role of the General Counsel of the firm, essentially the law firm's chief counselor with regard to legal issues having to do with the practice of law among its 70 attorneys in four Virginia offices. Geiger also furnishes advice to the managing shareholder of the Research Triangle Park office, which currently has three full-time attorneys.

Geiger earned his B.A. and his J. D. degrees at the College of William and Mary. He is an assistant professor at the University of Richmond and a frequent lecturer and commentator on legal ethics and the practice of law.

Byrd, now past Chair, has shouldered increased management and leadership responsibilities over the year as a member of the firm's Board of Directors, where he serves the role of a chief operating officer.
