CMS Data Services announces great success for both it's customers and the environment with it's data media repurchase program.
Wayne, NJ (PRWEB) January 21, 2009 -- CMS Data Services announces great success for both it's customers and the environment with it's data media repurchase program.
CMS Data Services has been actively pursuing opportunities to repurchase used data media from companies across the country. This media is purchased from end users, eradicated and certified for re-use. Certain media is no longer valid for this program but CMS welcomes and encourages all inquiries. Companies taking advantage of this offer have found an affordable and profitable way to convert to newer technology or to make more space in their data centers without worrying about the effects tape disposal will have on the environment.
Destruction of the data is completed using a Garner CDS-2500 degausser and CMS guarantees any information is irretrievable and put's that in writing! In most cases, CMS also pays the freight costs to ship the tapes to their facility. For Data Centers that are limited in space or for IT departments that are upgrading to new technology, this situation is a "win-win."
CMS is also gearing up their efforts to help clients find ways to save even more money and maintain their current infrastructure to reduce capital expenditures in 2009.
CMS suggests these 2009 Cost Saving Initiatives
- Turn old tapes into cash or credit towards the purchase of new tapes by participating in the CMS Tape Buyback Program. The program includes many brands and models and once the data is wiped clean CMS will issue a certificate of data destruction. You'll save money when you stop paying to have tape that has reached their retention limits stored at offsite locations.
- Plug up those unmanaged floor openings with Airblocks. Airblocks keep cool air from escaping in places where it shouldn't. They direct cool air where it needs to be and maintains proper temperatures around the data center. No more hot and cold spots, no more unnecessary energy cost wastes.
- Replace your worn and broken floor tiles to conserve energy where cool air is escaping or swap out your current tiles with Hi-Velocity Flow Tiles to create a better cooling situation.
- Schedule a quarterly, semi-annual or annual Data Center Cleaning to extend the life of your equipment. A Data Center Cleaning will remove dust and zinc whiskers before they contaminate your servers. CMS can help you design cleaning program based on your needs and budget.
CMS Data Services provides clients with the most trusted brands of storage media, backup tapes and imaging products at below market prices. As a value added service, CMS Data Services also offers cutting edge Data Center Maintenance solutions such as Tape Eradication, Tape Buy Back Programs, Sub-Floor Cleaning, Airflow assessments, and Remote Access Monitoring, just to name a few…
