Pro Bono debt resolution help is offered to lighten the burden for overburdened consumers. Bay View Law Group is offering assistance to help some families in need become financially secure.
Long Beach, CA (PRWEB) January 15, 2009 -- Bay View Law Group, a law firm specializing in financial matters including Debt Settlement, Asset Protection and Bankruptcy has announced the firm will accept more pro bono clients in 2009.
"These are extraordinarily hard times for some", says founding attorney Doug Crowder. "We have spoken to many who have been financially crippled by events out of their control. Long standing companies have closed leaving hundreds of workers in the same geographical area out of work. Credit card companies have raised interest rates simply because a client was late on their cable bill. And natural disasters have not only damaged homes but resulted in job losses as well."
After reviewing the cases they have handled over the years the firm decided to take on more pro bono clients in 2009. "When we speak with some perspective clients," says Settlement Administrator Veronica Sanchez, " we realize how close the client and their family are to hopelessness. They are struggling to hold on, to not file BK, they want to pay their bills, they want to flourish and it's evident they are on the edge of disaster. With discipline on the client's part and help from a professional it is clear they can get free of high-interest debilitating credit card debt without filing for bankruptcy protection. What they lack is any additional funds to pay for that help."
Bay View Law will be accepting applications for these pro bono opportunities beginning immediately. They prefer applications via email but applications via USPS mail will also be accepted. Bay View seeks clients with $20,000 or less in credit card or other unsecured debt. The applicant must have an income even if it's dramatically reduced from their norm, their hardship must be clear and they must be willing to do what it takes to get out from under their debt. Examples of pro bono clients that have been helped include victims of Hurricane Katrina, members of the Reserves called up to the war zone and now earning far less than they did in civilian life and an uninsured husband and father attempting to rid his family of debt before he died of pancreatic cancer. If accepted Bay view will need proof of the hardship to share with your creditors as they negotiate on your behalf. To apply Bay View requires the following information: Name, address, contact phone number, the amount of debt you owe, your total monthly payments on those debts, your total monthly income and a short explanation on what occurred to create your financial crisis. The firm will respond to each applicant and advise if you're accepted or not and if not, to perhaps suggest other appropriate remedies.
