Cohen brings with him over thirty years of experience in the music, entertainment and technology industries, and will help guide the company's direction in digital entertainment, and strategic partnerships.
Ted Cohen is co-founder of the TAG Strategic consulting firm, advising companies in digital media and entertainment across music, movies, television, mobile, infrastructure and media monetization. Until mid-2006, Cohen was Senior Vice President of Digital Distribution & Development for EMI Music where he was one of the very first major-label executives to embrace and support digital music distribution. In his role at EMI, Cohen oversaw worldwide digital business development for labels such as Capitol, Virgin, Angel/Blue Note, Parlophone and Chrysalis, and led the industry with new digital technologies and business models.
Prior to EMI, Cohen also served as Executive Vice President of Digital Music Network Inc., where he co-founded and served as Chairman of the groundbreaking Webnoize conferences. Cohen also held senior management positions at both Warner Bros. Records and Philips Media, and consulted for various entertainment, technology and new media organizations such as Amazon.com, Microsoft, Universal Studios New Media, DreamWorks Records, Liquid Audio, and Wherehouse Records/Checkout.com.
Cohen recently served as Chairman of the Mobile Entertainment Forum Americas board, and has, for the past ten years, chaired MidemNet, the international music/technology conference convened in Cannes each year. Cohen also serves on the NARAS (Grammy) Los Angeles chapter Board of Governors, as well as co-chairing the Grammy Tech Committee, and the Board of Directors for Imeem.
