Veteran business litigator playing key role as thought leader in corporate law department efforts to better understand economics of delivering legal services

I was privileged to be a part of this important event and I am looking forward to continuing my efforts to help buyers of legal services better understand the economics of practice, a cause with which I have been involved since 1992

Miami, FL (Lexis Nexis/PRWEB ) December 3, 2008 -- Harry Payton, a seasoned trial lawyer and one of the few Florida attorneys who is Florida Bar Board Certified in the specialties of business litigation and civil trial, was one of the featured speakers at a recent national conference focused on the management of litigation by corporate law departments.

Payton was a designated "Process Leader" at the 2008 Law Department Consortium's national event, Managing Litigation as a Business, held October 29th in Chicago. The event, co-produced by the Law Department Consortium and InsideCounsel, was an invitation-only conference at which law department leaders collaborated with each other and select outside counsel and suppliers to develop needed solutions for improving efficiencies, controlling costs and delivering more value to corporate clients.

"I was privileged to be a part of this important event and I am looking forward to continuing my efforts to help buyers of legal services better understand the economics of practice, a cause with which I have been involved since 1992," said Payton, founding member of Payton & Associates, LLC, a boutique business litigation law firm operating out of Miami. "By partnering together, rather than treating each other as adversaries, we can cultivate long-term, win-win working relationships."

According to Payton, he is particularly focused on leading his colleagues into a better understanding of how to develop effective litigation strategies and the importance of defining what constitutes a successful outcome in litigation.

Payton's law firm is currently handling a large volume of lender liability and construction litigation. Additionally, the firm has deep experience with general commercial litigation, breach of fiduciary duty and business torts, commercial real estate litigation, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, professional liability, probate and estate litigation, condominium litigation and appellate law. Payton was listed in Florida Super Lawyers for the years 2006 to 2008 and has been named as one of the Best Business Litigators in the South Florida Legal Guide, 2005 to 2008.
