Messaging Architects Drives Down Cost of Email Archiving and E-discovery with Major New Release of M+Archive

M+Archive 2008.1 introduces enterprise-class features to mitigate email risk and lower the cost of owning and managing an email archiving and e-discovery solution.

Montreal, Canada (Vocus/PRWEB ) December 23, 2008 -- Messaging Architects, the experts in email risk management and compliance, today announced a major new release of its M+Archive email archiving and e-discovery solution. Release 2008.1 provides many enhancements that automate email risk management, shorten legal discovery times, and lower the total cost of owning and managing an email archiving solution across the enterprise.

Features include automated record retention and disposition to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, guided navigation for faster and more accurate e-discovery search results, and support for the latest advancements in storage to reduce capacity requirements. M+Archive 2008.1 also introduces application-level clustering and load balancing to increase email system performance and availability and provide cost-effective, enterprise scalability.

Today’s harsh economic realities are increasing the pressure on company executives and government officials to provide audit trails of their decision-making processes captured in their email system
“Today’s harsh economic realities are increasing the pressure on company executives and government officials to provide audit trails of their decision-making processes captured in their email system,” said Pierre Chamberland, CEO of Messaging Architects. “More than ever, organizations need to prepare themselves by ensuring they can produce these email records for purposes of litigation, an audit, or a freedom-of-information request.”

M+Archive 2008.1 reduces the cost of mitigating email risk by avoiding fines and penalties tied to non-compliance with record retention laws, as well as by reducing e-discovery fees and minimizing the total cost of owning an email archiving solution.

New E-Discovery Features
M+Archive 2008.1 introduces a new, web-based e-discovery tool with guided navigation. Millions of email messages, calendar items, notes and tasks can now be searched in a matter of seconds while ensuring that no relevant records are missed. Advanced search features increase the accuracy of results by including messages with misspelled words, phrases that sound similar to the keyword, and closely related terms that otherwise might be missed. A dynamically-generated overview of all search results provides users with the ability to browse categories, as well as refine searches by location, author, date, and topic. This decreases the chance of an email from being accidentally omitted during e-discovery, an oversight that can cost organizations hefty regulatory fines and penalties or, worse, a lost court case.

New Archiving Features
To enforce record retention and disposition, M+Archive automates email archiving based on policies established by the organization. It also automatically moves older email records onto more cost-effective storage devices and destroys records at their permitted end-of-life cycle to free up storage space for newer archived records. The new release also offers new storage enhancements and more options for storing archived email records to lower costs. Its native support for single instant storage (SIS) eliminates the need to store duplicate email attachments, resulting in an upfront cost savings of up to 50%.

New Enterprise Features
The new release of M+Archive also introduces full application-level support for clustering and load balancing. This enables multiple servers to work efficiently together by off-loading each other to ensure maximum system performance and availability. Application-level clustering and load balancing also produces faster email archiving and retrieval times, and enables organizations to quickly and cost-effectively scale archiving across its organization, despite exponentially growing email volume and users.
