Matches last year's largest individual gift in local toy drive's 97-year history.
Houston, TX (PRWEB) December 17, 2008 -- Williams Kherkher Hart Boundas, LLP, announced today that Houston attorney and philanthropist John Eddie Williams, Jr., and his wife Sheridan donated $200,000 to the Houston Chronicle's Goodfellows Fund.
Every year during the holiday season, Goodfellows provides new toys for over 100,000 needy children ages 2 to 10. The Houston Chronicle assumes all costs for administering the program, allowing donations to go towards the purchase of toys and other gifts for the children.
This is the sixth year in a row that Mr. Williams, managing partner of Williams Kherkher, has made a donation - and this year's gift matches his 2007 donation as the largest individual contribution ever received by the fund.
"John Eddie and Sheridan's generosity is again, utterly amazing," said Goodfellows director Nelle Spates. "Their extraordinary investment in our program over these past 6 years has allowed Goodfellows to reach even more children in the Houston area; especially this year which has been tough on some local families."
