Salute to Women In Leadership

Fresno, CA (PRWEB) December 16, 2008 -- Family law litigator and collaborative attorney, Erin Rhames-Childs, founding partner of the Childs Law Group, is honored in September's Time Magazine Salute to Women In Leadership which, in conjunction with United Airlines and Sky Radio Network, spotlighted a number of women leaders who have excelled in the business and legal fields.

Chosen for her work in Collaborative Practice, Erin Rhames-Childs was featured and interviewed about what she does and why she does it. "The journalists from Sky Radio Network and Time Magazine were looking for someone who dedicated a large part of her practice to the Collaborative Divorce. I am a strong advocate for Collaborative Practice and am very involved with getting the message out to the masses so families can choose this avenue in the event they are faced with a family crisis," states Erin Rhames-Childs.

In her interview with Sky Radio Network, which featured her interview on United Airlines Ms. Childs discussed what Collaborative Practice is. "Collaborative divorce is a way for a divorcing couple to preserve their relationship for after the divorce is over so that they can effectively co-parent happy and healthy children despite the restructuring of their family. Couples deal with their divorce using two collaboratively-trained attorneys and commit in writing to keep their divorce out of court. They commit to resolving their issues through a series of four-way meetings and conducting themselves with honesty, integrity and forthrightness in mind," she continues.

Collaborative divorce can't remove the pain, agony and loss in a divorce, but it can avoid the emotional destruction that happens to all family members involved in a traditional divorce. Collaborative divorce can also help protect the family finances by costing less and taking less time to complete than a litigated divorce. Ms. Childs emphasizes, "Times are tough right now for most of us. This is a great way to have your divorce done well but cost a fraction of what it would in the court of law."

Time Magazine featured Erin's leadership qualities. "Whether we are handling a litigation case or a collaborative case, I view everyone - clients, paralegals, secretaries, and law clerks - as team members. We all have to communicate, respect each other and maintain a strong work ethic to get the job done and do it well. We want to be the smartest, most effective, most honest, hardworking team in the business and expecting the best from all involved will eventually get us there. We want to be the best out there for ourselves and for our clients."
