Weiss, shareholder at law firm Anapol, Schwartz, Weiss, Cohan, Feldman and Smalley, P.C., was one of five persons elected to the American Association for Justice's (AAJ) executive committee at the organization's recent annual convention in Philadelphia. This committee plays an important role in determining the direction of the organization - the world's largest trial bar, with 56,000 members.
Weiss is currently co-plaintiff's liaison counsel for more than 800 victims in the Vioxx New Jersey cases, helping to secure the $4.85 billion settlement. Concentrating in complex civil litigation, including class actions and pharmaceutical cases, medical and other professional malpractice, securities litigation and products liability matters, he also achieved a $68.5 million settlement for 168 people seriously injured by the statin drug Baycol, and a $3.75 billion settlement in a national diet drug case.
