After devastating fire at their facilities, Martin, Harding & Mazzotti donates $1,700 Rototiller to JC Little League in Schenectady, NY.
Albany, NY (PRWEB) August 2, 2008 -- Area personal injury law firm Martin Harding & Mazzotti, LLP donated a new Honda Rototiller to the JC Little League in Schenectady, New York after a fire at their storage facility destroyed valuable equipment. The cause of the fire is still under investigation according to Fire Chief Robert Farstad.
On Monday, May 26, 2008, a fire broke out in a shed at the Fourth Street Field and destroyed between $7,000 and $9,000 worth of equipment including a tiller, a new lawn mower, game gear and bases.
The league has over 300 children in the program ranging in age from five to twelve. The Fourth Street field is used mostly for the younger members of the league. Immediately after the fire, several games were canceled so that the shed could be cleaned up. The league wanted to spare the children from having to view the site.
When hearing about the league's tragedy, Paul Harding, managing partner of the personal injury law firm of Martin, Harding & Mazzotti, immediately worked to see how he and his firm could help. Harding states "I had to do what I could to get the Little League back on its feet as quickly as possible. We could not let this fire stand in the way of our community's children." Harding continues, "we would not have been able to do this without the help of our friends at All Seasons Equipment in Scotia. A special thank you to Dwayne for assisting us."
In a statement on their web site, the Schenectady JC Little League wrote "Most Little Leagues cannot afford insurance for losses due to vandalism, fire and flood. We are among those Little Leagues."
It is because of that fact that Harding was moved to help. "We work together for our children. We will not let malicious acts of vandalism and arson stop us from creating the kind of community that we all want to live in - one that is safe, nurturing and fun for every child."
The league sent out a special thank you to many area businesses that helped to get the Little League's schedule back on track and specifically offered a special thank you to Martin, Harding & Mazzotti.
