New Website Assists Law Students and Recent Grads with Job Search

AssociateLocator.com creates a unique site that connects law firms with new law grads seeking to enter the field.

Philadelphia (PRWEB) June 12, 2008 -- AssociateLocator.com announces the launch of its new website designed to help law students and recent law school graduates with their search for employment.

AssociateLocator.com was created by three attorneys, each dissatisfied with the tools available for identifying and hiring new lawyers. As a result, they created AssociateLocator.com, the only legal employment website focused on bringing law school students and recent graduates together with law firms and attorney recruiters.

"Other legal employment sites cater to experienced attorneys looking to make a lateral move," said Cathy Whiteman, a spokesperson for AssociateLocator.com. "We created this site to help law school students and new graduates find legal employment. Our goal is to unite an associate or intern with a law firm that offers a position in a practice area and a geographical location that satisfies the desires of the associate or intern and the law firm."

A one time flat fee provides law school students and recent graduates searching for entry level law jobs the ability to post a resume and search law job postings posted by law firms. The fee also permits a law student looking for an internship to post a resume during his or her first or second year and then switch his or her employment preference to a full time position during his or her third year at no additional charge.

Typically it takes nine months for a law school graduate to find his or her first law school graduate jobs because there is a disconnect between law school graduates and the majority of attorney employers, who do not actively recruit new attorneys or do not have the budget to do so effectively.

"Generally only large firms with recruiting budgets actively recruit law school students on campus and these few firms are only interested in the top 5 to 10 percent of each graduating class," said Whiteman. "That means that 90 percent of each class must rely on his or her school's career resource center or his or her own resources to find new attorney employment."

AssociateLocator.com is free of charge to law firms and attorney recruiters. By providing search criteria that places prospective interns' and associates' qualifications before legal employers, at no cost to the legal employer, AssociateLocator.com makes it easy and inexpensive for employers to find ideal candidates to fill their positions. This creates a unique forum for law school students or recent graduates seeking legal employment. Visit AssociateLocator.com for more information about our services.
