Local Attorney Does His Part to Fill Void Left by Educational Budget Cuts

Carlsbad California personal-injury attorney Gordon Levinson is doing his part to mitigate the effects of the largest proposed educational budget cut in California history. Levinson has pledged a $3,000 charitable donation to the Mission Estancia Elementary School Parent Teacher Association. The school, Mission Estancia, was the winner of the prestigeous National Blue Ribbon Award based on academic excellence.

Carlsbad, CA (PRWEB) May 22, 2008 -- Carlsbad California personal-injury attorney Gordon Levinson has pledged a $3,000 charitable donation to the Mission Estancia Elementary School Parent Teacher Association to help mitigate the effects of the largest proposed educational budget cut in California history.

To Gordon Levinson, senior attorney and owner of the Carlsbad-based Levinson Law Group, the budget cuts hit home. Two of his three children attend school at Mission Estancia.

"With the proposed budget cuts, education in the state was going to take a big hit," said Levinson. "I knew that I had to do something. The education of our children is the most important issue facing our country today."

As a Director of the Max and Anna Levinson Foundation, Gordon Levinson is able to give back to the community through a series of charitable donations. The grant for Mission Estancia was made possible by the foundation.

Mission Estancia is an elementary school in the Encinitas Unified School District. It was the only elementary school from San Diego County to be recognized for the National Blue Ribbon Award. Only 300 schools nationwide receive this distinguished award per year. The Blue Ribbon Award is given to schools that excel academically and provide positive learning environments for their students.

Because of California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's proposed budget cuts, local schools like Mission Estancia find themselves needing to take action to fit within the constraints placed upon them by the new budget. Some schools have recently faced the reality that teachers and programs would have to be cut in order to make ends meet.

Through his generous donation to the Mission Estancia PTA, the school will be spared some of the burden that the proposed cuts will impose.

"I'm just doing my part," Levinson said. "That's all any of us can do."

The Levinson Law Group is a Carlsbad based law firm that specializes in personal injury law. The firm represents victims of life-changing tragedies. For more information, visit the web site at http://www.levinsonlawgroup.com or call (760) 692-2260.

The Max and Anna Levinson Foundation is a private foundation that "makes grants to individuals and groups committed to developing a more just, caring, ecological and sustainable world, in which people have a greater ability and opportunity to determine directions for the future."
