Family Service Agency of Marin Provides Hope to the Families of Marin

The FSA began life in 1943 as a USO Traveler's Aid Unit to meet the needs of workers arriving from across the United States to work in shipyards located in Marin County during World War II. At that time, the agency offered counseling, financial, and employment services. In 1945, when the Traveler's Aid Unit was set to be disbanded, the agency's staff as well as the residents of Marin banded together to keep it alive and the FSA was born. Since then, the FSA has steadily expanded their services ensuring that the counseling and assistance they provide are both cost effective and culturally relevant to the community they serve. Each year, FSA provides 7,000 children, adults and families with affordable and caring mental health services. To learn more about the FSA, please visit the FSA's web site.
