Novato, CA (PRWEB) April 13, 2008 -- Employees of Brayton Purcell have taken the initiative to come together and volunteer their time in St.Vincent De Paul's soup kitchen to help those in need! St.Vincent De Paul's soup kitchen is a place where the homeless and other disadvantaged people in the community can come to eat a free hot meal. Marty Pang, of Brayton Purcell, is spearheading the volunteer work, and so far has organized a group of 20 employees to be of service at St.Vincent De Paul's in San Rafael, CA. Once a quarter on Saturday mornings, employees will participate in a multitude of tasks such as preparing and serving food, bussing tables, stocking the pantry, cleaning up the street afterwards, and most important -- sitting and talking to people.
Marty Pang said, "As part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility, we sponsor and contribute to many worthwhile causes. However, nothing will replace the hands-on approach when trying to help those in need. A few minutes spent listening and conversing to a fellow human-being down on their luck, is valued over any dollar amount. At Brayton-Purcell, we treat our client's with respect and dignity, we also try to carry these values to the disadvantaged people in this community." If you are interested in participating in St. Vincent Paul's soup kitchen, you must attend a training program for a few hours, held every Monday of the month. Please visit their web site for more details.
