New York, NY (PRWEB) February 6, 2008 -- Ensuring that senior partners, attorneys and support staff receive top-notch BlackBerry smartphone support has emerged as a top priority for Am Law 100 IT organizations, according to BoxTone(R), the award-winning expert in mobile user management.
In a survey of attendees at the opening day of LegalTech 2008, law firms who had initially deployed BlackBerry smartphones at least two or more years ago were asked to describe how the internal perception of the platform has changed. A significant majority (65 percent) said the platform has transitioned from an individual productivity tool to a mission-critical service.
When pressed to explain the impact on their IT organizations, these same respondents uniformly said the shift has prompted them to actively identify and implement key technologies (such as proactive management, monitoring and support solutions) and internal process standards that can ensure superior performance and availability.
Specific capabilities cited most desirable included automated, real-time visibility to -- and proactive resolution of -- issues that could affect the ability of senior partners, attorneys and staff to effectively work and respond to clients when remote.
The results did not surprise Brian Reed, chief product officer at BoxTone. "Law firms long ago recognized and began to rely on the extraordinary benefits of immediacy and productivity that the BlackBerry smartphone can deliver," said Reed. "That reliance has bred an expectation of near flawless service levels. Unfortunately, traditional IT tools cannot understand actual user experience and cannot see half of the service delivery environment that resides outside the firm's firewall."
Reed continued, "What has emerged is a user service-level architecture and modular approach known as Mobile User Management, first introduced and popularized by BoxTone in 2005. Since then, more than 15 of the Am Law 100 have embraced the BoxTone software-based approach to manage, monitor and support their mission-critical BlackBerry platforms. Indeed, in just the last 45 days, two more Am Law 100 firms have turned to BoxTone management and monitoring software for the BlackBerry platform -- strong validation that we know how to keep senior partners smiling while reducing an IT organization's workload."
Leveraging the BoxTone SmartMP(TM) core technology, BoxTone has architected a plug-and-play platform with key modules to centrally manage, monitor and support in real-time several hundred to tens of thousands of users provisioned across multiple geographies, multiple BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Microsoft Exchange or IBM Lotus Domino, and multiple wireless carriers.
Thanks to this unique Mobile User Management approach, BoxTone clients routinely report 80 percent reductions in mean-time-to-repair (MTTR), enabling one messaging team member to fully support thousands of users while delivering the special attention that VIPs demand.
In addition to its strength in the legal and professional services vertical, BoxTone software is trusted by more than 40 Fortune 1000 enterprises across multiple sectors including aerospace and defense, communications and high technology, energy and utilities, financial services, real estate and construction, and retail, as well as by several government agencies and global service providers.
The company recently announced a record 2007, during which sales, clients and smartphones under BoxTone software management doubled year-over-year.
