Crumley & Associates Offer Video PSA Contest and Essay Scholarship Contests to North Carolina Students

North Carolina teens encouraged to use their creativity to reach out to peers.

Greensboro, NC (PRWEB) January 16, 2008 -- Greensboro-based law firm Crumley & Associates, in conjunction with the Crib to College Foundation, has announced that it is now accepting submissions to the Spring 2008 My PSA Contest as well as to the Crib to College Scholarship and the Next Step Scholarship.

My PSA Contest
Crumley & Associates has teamed up with the Crib to College Foundation and My PSA Contest to host a video public service announcement (PSA) contest for high school students in the Greensboro and Charlotte areas. The mission of the PSA contest is to help young people make a difference while expressing their feelings about underage drinking and driving.

Students have been asked to produce 28- to 29-second video PSAs discussing their feelings and thoughts regarding the dangers of underage drinking and driving. The contest is designed to promote awareness regarding this topic, while allowing students to express themselves in creative manners.

The PSAs will be judged on students’ abilities to analyze and discuss the topic and produce a quality video. The creator of the winning PSA will receive a laptop computer; the school where the student attends will receive a monetary donation; and the winning PSA will be aired on television, the Crumley & Associates’ Web site, the Crib to College Foundation’s Web site, and My PSA Contest’s Web site. Entries are due Friday, April 4, 2008. To learn more about the contest, visit www.CrumleyandAssociates.com or visit www.myPSAcontest.com and enter your ZIP code in the ZIP Code Locator.

Crib to College Scholarship
The Crib to College Scholarship is for graduating high school seniors who have been accepted to four-year, accredited colleges or universities. Scholarship recipients will be awarded $1,000 scholarships and laptop computers. Judging is based upon applicants’ community involvement and written answers to an essay question about the law and safety. This year’s question asks young people to discuss teen driving issues. This is the third year Crumley & Associates and the Crib to College Foundation have offered the Crib to College Scholarships.

Next Step Scholarship
The Next Step Scholarship is open to students of all ages who are currently enrolled at a community college, have a 2.5 or better GPA, and have been accepted or will be attending an accredited four-year college or university this fall. The firm will help five scholarship recipients pursue their educational goals by awarding them $1,000 scholarships and laptop computers. Judging is based upon a written essay. This is the second year Crumley & Associates has offered the Next Step Scholarship.

Both scholarship competitions close March 15, 2008. Students can download applications at either the Crumley & Associates’ Web site, www.CrumleyandAssociates.com or the College Foundation of North Carolina Web site at www.cfnc.org.
