Verdatum Announces the Release of On-Demand Streaming Dictation for Lawyers

Vedatum's legal specific digital dictation system provides attorneys with yet another innovation - the first tool allowing them to create and stream dictation on-demand.

New York, NY (PRWEB) November 14, 2007 -- Verdatum, the world's only legal exclusive digital dictation system with automated workflow, has released it's latest tool for lawyers and law firms - the capability for an attorney to choose to stream dictation to their transcriptionists.

Many attorneys remember utilizing dictation machines which would stream dictation in real time to their assistant. While support for most of those systems has been discontinued, many attorneys still want that functionality from their digital dictation system. With the release of this product Verdatum has replicated that capability and improved on it tremendously.

Attorneys no longer have to have a system which is either constantly streaming or functions without any streaming. Users can now choose whether to initiate streaming dictation, and also choose the transcriptionist to whom they will stream. They can also choose the buffer length of the stream, allowing them to retain the capability to edit their recording while also allowing streaming. This can occur on Verdatum's system whether the transcriptionist is located in the same office as the attorney or in a remote location. And of course the system functions with Verdatum's groundbreaking document management system integration, assuring the firm and its clients that all dictation is secure and cannot be lost.

"As the only company in the world serving the legal market for digital dictation workflow exclusively, we take very seriously our mission to deliver tools that are useful to attorneys. We know better than any company in this market that the dictation needs of attorneys and their assistants are very different from physicians, healthcare, and other industries," said John Methfessel, President and CEO of Verdatum. "Often attorneys face a need for real time transcription, and near time turn around of documents for or on behalf of clients. Companies without a sole focus on lawyers and law firms can't meet this need. However, at Verdatum, we have developed the first such system in the world, knowing full well that there is a segment of attorneys in many firms that require this capability. While the engineering of this solution was complex, the end goal was very simple - to deliver law firms, lawyers, and their assistants tools that are designed specifically for them. Systems designed and marketed to both lawyers and physicians must by definition be a compromise, and lawyers don't like that. Our customers know that our legal specific focus ensures that we will deliver useful, effective, easy to use tools to lawyers and law firms."
