Salt Lake Companies Plan Vigorous Defense Against Allegations Made by SEC and Media

The Securities Exchange Commission on Wednesday filed an ill-informed claim against Calypso Financial, LLC, Emilee Petersen Golding and six other entities, alleging that the companies and individual inappropriately used funds in a "Ponzi scheme". Ms. Golding and the companies are planning a vigorous defense to illustrate that their financial, business and personal dealings have all been well within the SEC rules and the Law.

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) October 26, 2007 -- The Securities Exchange Commission on Wednesday filed an claim against Calypso Financial, LLC, Emilee Petersen Golding and six other entities, in the U.S. District Court in the District of Utah (Case No. 2:07 CV 807B), alleging that the companies and individual inappropriately used funds in a "Ponzi scheme". Ms. Golding and the companies are planning a vigorous defense to illustrate that their financial, business and personal dealings have all been well within the SEC rules and the Law.

"The SEC filing was made on the basis of allegations made by a disgruntled former employee and an SEC employee with no first-hand knowledge of the situation. Neither myself or any of the companies are a 'Ponzi scheme', and we will defend that innocence through the courts," said Ms. Golding. "I have every faith that once the court reviews our documentation and meticulous files that this matter will be laid to rest."

Ms. Golding continued, "The SEC filing and subsequent news reports are riddled with inaccuracies. For example, no permanent injunction was obtained in this matter. In fact, the SEC sought an indefinite order to freeze assets, which was denied. The SEC did receive a temporary order for 14 days, by which time the courts will evaluate the allegations made by the SEC."

Furthermore, Ms. Golding is not involved in active trading programs, does not receive an annual salary, nor does she have an "extravagant lifestyle" - she doesn't own a Jaguar, BMW, or Volvo, and lives in a rented condominium. Despite allegations made by the media, Ms. Golding never solicited clients. All current clients are accredited and no misrepresentations were ever made.    

Ms. Golding does have a thriving real estate development project in the St. George, Utah area. The city offices confirmed that the venture is flourishing and progressing. Media reports inaccurately reported the status of the development.
