LawGallery Offers Cash Award to Artists Submitting Artwork for Legal Professionals

LawGallery, the leading provider of museum-quality artwork for lawyers and judges, is inviting artists to submit art for inclusion on its Web site, www.LawGallery.com. Each artist whose work is accepted by LawGallery will receive a $300 award with 10 percent of any print sale going to the artist.

(PRWEB) October 23, 2007 -- LawGallery, the leading provider of distinguished art for legal professionals, has issued a ''Call for Art.'' Artists have been invited to submit artwork for inclusion on the LawGallery Web site (www.LawGallery.com). Applications by either established artists or emerging artists are encouraged.

Each artist whose work is accepted by LawGallery will receive a $300 award. Reproductions of accepted artwork will be offered for sale on LawGallery.com with 10 percent of any print sale going to the artist. The artist will retain the original artwork and the copyright applying to it.

“We are seeking original artwork depicting issues related to law or justice,” said a LawGallery representative. “Artists should not limit their work to either subjects or styles currently on LawGallery.com, however. This ‘Call for Art’ is intended to broaden the scope of offerings on the Web site.”

Any medium which is two-dimensional is welcome, including photography, painting, printmaking, digital or collage. Examples of subjects might include:

  • Images which explore ideas of justice, judgments and/or law.
  • Portraits of key figures in the field of law (such as prominent judges, lawyers, political or public figures who have shaped or are shaping contemporary law). Images/portraits of minority figures are particularly encouraged.
  • Architectural images of court houses or other symbols of law.
  • Historic trials or contemporary trials.

To apply, e-mail info@LawGallery.com with a letter of interest, including a description (title, dimensions, medium, etc.) of the proposed artwork (if not already created). Please also include the name, contact and any biographical information about the artist. LawGallery will accept up to 5 images (jpeg, not to exceed 10MB per e-mail) of either finished artwork or images of previous work, which would serve as an example of the visual esthetics, medium and techniques of the work the artist would like to create for this project.
