Beijing Investors Visit Chicago Businesses

Meetings with Alderman Daniel Solis and Chuhak & Tecson attorney Gary Stern help spur on local business and investment opportunities from China.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) October 28, 2007 -- Local businesses continue to make significant inroads to building greater relationships with Chinese business and investment firms, as officials from the Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau recently met with Chicago business leaders and government officials.

"Having recently completed my second visit to China, where I met with representatives of the Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau, there are tremendous opportunities to work hand-in-hand on business initiatives that are win-win for the U.S. and Chinese markets," said Gary Stern, an equity partner at the law firm of Chuhak & Tecson. Stern recently spoke at the "China: Promise to Profits" conference at the Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

Stern is the force behind Chuhak & Tecson's "Welcome to the United States" program, a comprehensive program of services developed to assist people from China interested in conducting business in the U.S. The Beijing Bureau assists those interested in doing business in the U.S. and encouraging American companies to do more business in Beijing.

Three officials--Mr. Zhou Weimin, Deputy Director of Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau, Mr. Zhang Xinmin, Division Chief of Industrial Promotion, and Ms. Tian Tian, Industrial Promotion Division visited Chuhak & Tecson on their tour, and were guests of honor at a dinner hosted by Stern and the Chuhak & Tecson China Department with 25th Ward Alderman Daniel S. Solis, and assistant Stephen Stultz. Solis is involved in China-Chicago relations. His 25th Ward is in Chicago's Chinatown.

Through the dedicated efforts of Mayor Richard M. Daley and members of the nearly 50 year old Sister Cities Program, Chicago recently opened a Development Office in Shanghai. Shanghai has been a member of Chicago's 27 Sister Cities since 1985. Stern met with the Development Office's Executive Director, John Thomson, during his recent visit to Shanghai and plans to meet with him on his next visit in November.
