New York personal injury law firm Martin, Harding & Mazzotti is giving local high school students the New York State required, five-hour driver's course free of charge, a gas card sweepstakes to give a $100 first prize and this year's free taxi ride program.
Albany, NY (PRWEB) April 1, 2009 -- Personal injury law firm Martin, Harding & Mazzotti has announced three programs that reach out to the far corners of their community. The five-hour pre-licensing driving course is required by New York State and is being offered to local high school students completely free of charge. The gas card giveaway is open to those who register on 1800LAW1010.com. First prize is a $100 gas card. Lastly, the firm is offering free taxi rides from area locations on certain holiday dates for those who have had too much to drink - no questions asked.
The five-hour pre-licensing course is required by New York State, free of charge and is being offered at the firm's office in Niskayuna. It is open to students from Colonie Central High School, North Colonie (Shaker) High School, Niskayuna High School, Schenectady High School and the Christian Brothers Academy. At a future date the firm will open up the class to all schools in the community. Seating will be limited to two students from each of the five schools per class.
There are nine classes available from April 7 to December 8, 2009. Registration for the five-hour class is now open on 1800LAW1010.com where students with their New York state learner's permits can register for their chance to win their spot in one of the free classes.
"We understand students are eager to drive as soon as they get their permits," said Paul B. Harding, the firm's managing partner. "But we want to make sure our local teenagers are fully educated and ready to take on the responsibilities of becoming a licensed driver."
The gas card sweepstakes will pick three random winners to receive a first, second and third place gas card. The contest will be run by the firm every three months beginning March 31, 2009. First place will receive a $100 gas card, second a $60 gas card and third a $40 gas card.
To be entered in the contest, go to http://www.1800LAW1010.com and click the Gas Card Sweepstakes Button. Fill out the form and you will be automatically contacted if you are one of the three randomly picked winners in 2009 for the quarter ending on March 31, June 30, September 30 and December 31.
Harding says, "We all know what a burden gas prices have been over the last year, this gas card sweepstakes offers members of our community the chance to keep a little more in their wallet."
In the free taxi ride program, the firm is working with local taverns and restaurants by offering free rides home to patrons who might have had too much to drink. This program's goal is to make the community safer by reducing drunk driving and saving lives. Free taxi rides are offered in 2009 on Superbowl Sunday, St. Patrick's Day, Memorial Day Weekend, 4th of July Weekend, Labor Day Weekend, Thanksgiving Weekend and New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. On those days all you have to do is call the firm at 1-800-LAW-1010, request a taxi and be picked up for free.
In the past, the firm has worked very hard to support the Capital District and greater New York community with donations to many programs. This year, MHM's outreach is working with local businesses to support public safety.
Harding continues, "Our goal is to not only get people home safely during this year's holidays, it is to reduce the risk to all of us."
This program has a history of doing just that. Since Christmas of 2007, Martin, Harding & Mazzotti's free taxi ride program has provided over 1,000 free rides to drivers who have had too much to drink, significantly making the New York community safer for everyone.
