Experienced sports and entertainment lawyer Ed Schauder has been selected to head up a new Haynes and Boone, LLP practice focusing on the specific needs of the sports and entertainment industries.
New York, NY (Vocus/PRWEB ) April 8, 2009 -- Experienced sports and entertainment lawyer Ed Schauder has been selected to head up a new Haynes and Boone, LLP practice focusing on the specific needs of the sports and entertainment industries. The Sports and Entertainment practice at Haynes and Boone is designed to assist sponsors, franchise owners, film-makers, producers, athletes, celebrities and other performers with their specialized needs, drawing on the full resources of the firm.
As head of the Haynes and Boone Sports and Entertainment Law Group, Mr. Schauder will lead a team selected from the firm's almost 550 lawyers, across more than 30 practice areas and 12 offices. "The support of my colleagues here at Haynes and Boone is a reminder of why I chose to be a part of this firm, Mr. Schauder says. "And the strong positive reaction from my friends and clients in the sports and entertainment industries has made the opening of this practice even more exciting."
"Ed has developed a unique approach to sports marketing that has been embraced by some of the most storied teams and individuals in modern history," says New York partner Gil Porter, who oversees the Sports and Entertainment Law Group. "We are very excited to add this practice capability to our firm, and to have Ed leading the effort on behalf of our clients. His reputation and experience in this area, coupled with his sophisticated corporate and transactional background, make Ed the perfect choice to lead this growth practice."

"Rather, we provide tactical and legal support for select agents, serving as a second set of eyes to assist the agents in developing smart structures that enhance the value that the agent brings to the client. Our broad and deep knowledge of legal issues and trends, coupled with our industry-wide relationships, make us a valuable part of the arsenal available to assist valued agent clients."
Mr. Schauder pioneered techniques for securing personal licensing rights, and has negotiated licenses, corporate sponsorships, endorsements and memorabilia transactions. In the film industry, his experience includes financing of film production, securing intellectual property rights associated with the project, all aspects of film production and licensing and merchandising rights associates with the film project.
