Americas Watchdog created the Homeowners Consumer Center ( http://Homeownersconsumercenter.com ) as a result of Hurricane Katrina. The Homeowners Consumers Center was built around the idea of giving all homeowners useful information related to buying a house, how to get homeowners insurance, how to get a mortgage on a home, etc. As a survivor of Hurricane Katrina, Americas Watchdog indicated they were "astonished by the results of homeowners lack of knowledge related to what is insured in their home". Americas Watchdog is encouraging all US homeowners to contact their insurance agent, to check their homeowners insurance policy. According to Americas Watchdog, homeowners might be stunned to find out how little coverage they have. Homeowners should also check their homeowners insurance policies because of climate change, resulting in increasing chances of hurricanes, severe weather, wild fires, etc. Having gone through Hurricane Katrina, Americas Watchdog is warning all US homeowners to not take their homeowners insurance for granted.
The Homeowners Consumer Center's web site is located at http://prweb.com/releases/2007/12/Http://HomeownersConsumerCenter.Com Americas Watchdog encourages all US Homeowners to e-mail their friends about this study and encourages all to check with their insurance agent about their homeowners coverage. Americas Watchdog also strongly encourages all US renters to get renters insurance coverage, in the event of a natural disaster, flood or theft.
Americas Watchdog is all about consumer protection and corporate fair play.
